Hi I'm Amy Sharp

I am a stay at home mom of two beautiful girls. I love music, baking and playing games with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a large family. My parents divorced when I was young and so my mom took on the role of raising the few of us that were left at home. My mom has always been a wonderful example of strength to me. Even though she was all alone she always took us to church and made sure we knew that the gospel of Jesus Christ was important. Later in life I received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I love people and have always had a desire to make others happy. I love music, especially singing and have participated in choral and theater productions throughout my life. I find joy in being able to perform and use my talents. I also enjoy reading a good book, watching a good movie, as well as playing games with my family. I am married to a wonderful man who is such an example of love and kindness. He is a wonderful husband and father. We have two beautiful girls who keep us on our toes. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom, but I am grateful for the education I have and that I am able to use it to help and bless my family. My family, serving others, and the knowledge that God lives and that we have a Savior who died for us is what brings me the greatest joy in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord's church and gospel restored to the earth again. I know this because of many experiences I have had with the spirit that has confirmed this truth to me. I grew up in the church, but there is a time when you have to gain a testimony for yourself. As I have read the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, I feel the sweet spirit helping me know that the things I read are from the Lord. I know God answers prayers and he has answered mine many times. I know that when we truly have a desire to know "truth" that we need to go to the source of all truth, and that is our Father in Heaven. Through study, prayer, and the confirmation of the spirit that is given to all men to know of truth, I have come to know for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored. The gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to become a better person. Through the Atonement of Christ I can repent and be forgiven and continue to strive to be better. I love the knowledge that I can be with my family forever, and not just until death. I know that we are all children of God and that he wants all of us to be happy and he has provided these blessing to all if we will just have faith and trust in Him. Being a Mormon brings me purpose in this life. I know who I am and what my role is here on earth. I have also have a knowledge of God's plan for us after this life. We have a living prophet who is God's mouthpiece here on earth. Just as God has always done for his children, he has called a Prophet in our day. He gives council and direction for all God's children. I know the priesthood power, or power to act for the Lord on this earth, has been restored, just as when Christ was on the earth, and with it we can receive all the blessings the Lord has for us. Miracles continue to happen today. I know the Lord loves us and as we choose to follow him we will be truly happy .

How I live my faith

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we have the wonderful opportunity of serving one another on a daily basis. I love the principle of service because we are able to follow the example of our Savior and it never fails to bless my life as I strive to forge about myself and think of others. I have served in our woman's organization as well as teaching the children in their Sunday School. I am currently serving as the Ward Chorister. I direct the choir for our church congregation. I do not have a lot of training in this area, other than the experience I have had participating in choirs, but it has given me the opportunity to learn a new skill and has helped me to grow by getting out of my comfort zone. I love music, and it is wonderful that I can help others share that love as well. I also visit with other women within our congregation. We watch out for one another and the purpose is that that no one feels that they are alone. There is always someone that they can turn to for help and understanding. The Lord wants us to fellowship and be there for each other.
