Hi I'm Todd A. Raney

I'm an American that grew up in Europe. I'm a jet mechanic turned property manager. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a dad. I currently manage an inn on the Oregon coast. I love nature and camp/backpack as often as time permits. I've been a semi-pro drummer and currently collect records. I've been to college and am an avid reader of adventure, outdoors and scripture.

Why I am a Mormon

There was always a strong tug in my heart to find out the will and nature of my Creator. When I was introduced to the Book of Mormon, it filled in the answers that I'd tried to find in the Old and New Testaments. It simply rang true with me, the more I prayerfully studied and pondered its contents. As i began to attend church meetings I found sincere, family oriented loving people...without guile and pretentiousness. I had never been around a more unified and caring people. The Spirit is a close companion now and as promised, line upon line...precept upon precept, I am learning wonderful truths about my potential as a son of a loving Heavenly Father and a disciple of a caring Jesus Christ. This is the way. I honestly would not share this with you if I wasn't convinced of the validity of the restored gospel. Herein is the Lord's will for all of us! Study it out for yourself, pray earnestly to know and you can count on a sure answer. That's why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I serve in my local church and see to the well-being of my good friends and their families. It's great to be with like-minded people who want the best for one another and truly seek to serve the Lord.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Todd A. Raney
Just as you have a stirring, warm feeling in your heart when you have come to learn other truths, you will find you have the same experience when reading the account in 3 Nephi. It is one of the most important events in human history ever witnessed and recorded by common people of faith and will become one of the greatest reasons you'll want to read the entire Book of Mormon. If you have ever wanted to follow Jesus Christ and his simple teachings, the Bible record from the east, combined with the record of those who sat and listened to Christ in the Americas, will give you full confidence that He is the way back to the Father as he says. What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Todd A. Raney
Like comparing the switching on of a light bulb with the more gradual appearing of light in a sunrise, a testimony is the sure spiritual witness that comes to you as you seek to know the truth of the gospel and its principles. It is a gift that comes to you through diligent study and prayer. Certain aspects of truth are easy to understand and come quickly, while others take more time and are understood gradually, as they are built on experience and deeper commitment to understanding. A testimony is a gift from the Father, through the Holy Ghost and may be counted upon as truth and a guiding standard. Show more Show less
