Hi I'm Bryan

I have called Teton Valley my home for the last 30+ years. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. My favorite activities include: hiking, motorbiking (on road or off), jet skiing, camping and snowmobiling. My hobbies include fixing cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles and jet skis. I love living in a small community where everyone knows each other, where everyone goes out of there way to help each other. I have eight children, five of whom are married, and 6 grand kids. I have been managing retail for the last 30 years, currently I am a store manager at a hardware store. I have just completed an Associates Degree and hope to continue working towards a Bachelors Degree. I enjoy being alone, but I also enjoy spending time with my best friend, my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon, my parents joined the church when they were teenagers. I struggled with living the gospel for many years. I knew God was there, I knew he loved me. I knew God heard and answered my prayers, he was there when I needed him most. Many times I was frustrated and wanted to know for sure if the church was true. About 7 or 8 years ago I was listening to Elder Boyd K. Packer, a member of the twelve apostles talk about how his testimony came slowly to him. Little things had happened to him that built his faith. As I listened to him speak I felt peace come to my soul, I knew that I needed to take it slow and simple. When I had questions, I carefully researched them, studied them out, and prayed to my Father in Heaven for understanding. Slowly the answers came, my understanding grew, and I knew God was giving me those answers as I was ready to receive them. Prophets warn us of things to avoid and the things that will happen if we don't avoid them. When I didn't listen I suffered. When I did listen I was blessed and saw first hand that listening to the Prophet is the only way to avoid heartache and suffering. I have a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have read the Book of Mormon over and over again and found that living the teachings in it brings me much happiness. I believe that Joseph Smith was a Prophet and talked to God and his son and that he translated the Book of Mormon. I believe that Thomas Monson is currently our Prophet today.

How I live my faith

I love to help and serve others. Being a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides many opportunities to do this. The Savior has taught us that we should love and have charity towards our fellow man. This has been the only way I have found to have true happiness. I have served in many capacities in this church, currently I am President of our Ward Sunday School. My most rewarding callings have been as a teacher. I try my best to set a good example to those I meet on the street and at my place of business. I love saying 'Hi' to everyone I pass, this has brought odd stares from people in large cities when I travel, but many people have smiled and I hope I have put some spark into their day.
