Hi I'm Judy

I am a full time mom. I am a convert to the church. My profession was teaching. I am a mormon.

About Me

As a child I was taught to be kind, to believe in God and to be a good example. Being the oldest of all the grandchildren, I was reminded on a regular basis how my conduct might influence my younger siblings and cousins. When I was young I did not care to hear it sometimes, but now as an adult, I fully understand the wisdom behind that upbringing. It helped shape my character and taught me accountability. Now as a mom, I am teaching my children some of those same values and ideals. I enjoy learning, and I enjoy smiling. I have many hobbies and interests. As of right now, I love to walk, hike and run -- specially in the evenings when I can see the sunsets. The mountains are very close to my home, I love looking at them. Nature brings peace to my soul.

Why I am a Mormon

As a 20 year old, the missionaries came knocking on my door. I was living with my parents, and attending college. In our home, we never had the scriptures. As a youth, I did not have a close relationship with the word of God. I was familiar with prayer, and I knew that God loved me. The missionaries taught me about the gospel. They gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon. They asked me to read and to pray about it. I did. I found my answer. The Holy Ghost touched my heart, and I accepted the invitation to be baptized. My Father in Heaven has blessed me with great faith. I have honestly tried to keep his commandments to the best of my ability since my conversion. My faith found strength in the Book of Mormon. It was this wonderful book that helped me solidified my faith and my testimony. Once in a while, I look back at my life, and I am so grateful that I chose to be a mormon three decades ago. It has shaped, enriched and blessed my life for the better in all areas. In a way my family was preparing me as a child to be a mormon, by teaching me to be kind, to believe in God and to be good a good example. I can honestly say that I love this gospel with my whole heart.

How I live my faith

At church I help in the nursery. Every Sunday, we take care of the children who are 18 months to 3 years old. I am also the wolf leader for the 8 year olds cub scouts. In the last 30 years that I have been a mormon, I have had the opportunity to serve in many callings. But no matter where I serve, I try to do my best. I do it because I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. They have always been there for me. Even when I was a child, and I did not know very much about them. I live my faith one day at a time. I try to do my best and change where I need to. Many days go smooth, but on the rough ones I know where to turn for help. My Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ are only a prayer away. Also, the scriptures give me guidance and answers to my prayers. When life is challenging, I try to remember that I am to be grateful and of good cheer. I remember my many blessings, and that always helps me to feel better.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We are spirit children of our Heavenly Father. We lived with him in Heaven before we came to earth. He knows us by name. He loves us dearly. We were created in His image. Our Father in Heaven has an immortal body, so does our Savior Jesus Christ. Our Father wants us to go back and live with Him again. He provided a way through the plan of salvation and the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. Because Jesus Christ paid for our sins through his atonement, we can repent and be forgiven of our sins. By choosing to follow our Savior all the days of our lives, we will be blessed, guided and protected. We will find happiness, peace and the hope to be able to go back home and live with them forever. Wonderful will be our joy. Show more Show less
