Hi I'm Clyde

50's Babyboomer who grew up in Wisconsin and served in the US Navy.

About Me

I am a husband, father, and grandfather who works for an engineering college providing technical support to the students and faculty. I love to garden, can, cook and eat what we grow in our garden. I enjoy turning wooden bowls and other turned items as well as teaching others to turn wood and to garden. I joined the LDS Church when I was 27 years old.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church while I was on active duty in the U.S. Navy. A fellow servicemember told me one day that I should be a Mormon. When I asked him why, he simply stated I sounded like one. That led me to seek out members of the Church and learn more. I discovered that most of what I had been taught about the Mormon Faith was loaded with false information and misconceptions. I learned the Church was very family oriented and practical, taking a common sense approach to most any issue or problem. That appealed to me. I have watched as my children and now my grandchildren have grown up with help they have received from learning gospel principles taught in our home and at church. It has given them an advantage in the world around them. I am greatful for the influence the gospel has had in my life.

How I live my faith

I strive to live the principles taught in the scriptures, follow God's commandments and teachings of the Prophets. I work at being a kind, caring and loving husband, father and grandfather. I work to help in church and have held various church callings. Have served in community groups by being a Big Buddy, Assistant Scoutmaster, and serving on various community committees and boards. I try to be mindful of those in need and help as I am able.
