Hi I'm Emily Roberts

I'm a student at UCF, an aspiring photographer, and a happy newlywed. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in sunny San Diego for 20 years until I met the love of my life while attending Brigham Young University and moved with him across the country to even sunnier Orlando, Florida. I guess that kind of sums up my personality, I love traveling and seeing new places so moving to Florida seemed like the biggest adventure. While is it hard being so far away from my family, moving here has been the biggest blessing. I'm currently a student at UCF and am anxiously applying to nursing programs in the area. I work part time in the emergency department at one of the hospitals here and just love the medical field. I attended a performing arts high school so I have a deep love for musicals and all things "artsy". I also love Taylor Swift and mint chocolate chip ice cream. But most of all, I love being a wife, and I love my husband. He is the root of my happiness and my biggest supporter. I am so grateful for our relationship and eternal marriage.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Gospel and raised in the church by loving parents. However, that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have, through time and experience, developed a testimony of my own. I lived for a short period of my life without the influence of the church and because of that, I have been able to see how unhappy I am when I reject the love and support of my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. I have also been able to feel the true happiness that comes when I live the commandments. It has certainly not been easy, but it has definitely been worth it. I know that when I live righteously and live the teachings of the Prophets, my life is blessed. I have a testimony of prayer and know that my Heavenly Father is very aware of me, my struggles and my desires. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that when we follow its counsel we will be better people. The Gospel just makes sense! In every single aspect it simplifies, enlightens and enriches my soul and my life. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it is true.

How I live my faith

Currently, my calling in the church is as Primary Secretary, and I love it! The Primary is for all kids ages 3-12, and boy do those kids just melt my heart! At first I was nervous to work with young children for fear that they would not like me ( I know, what was I thinking!?), but I have grown to love them all with their quirks and silliness. I manage a lot of the busy work in the Primary; updating papers, keeping track of attendance, attending meetings, but I find so much happiness serving my Heavenly Father by serving the little ones in my ward.
