Hi I'm Marcus

I am a full-time missionary. I love to read. I do Tae Kwon Do. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Marcus. I love to read a lot from all types of books, especially the classics. I am an Eagle Scout.I love Tae Kwon Do and am a red belt in it. I also love to play the piano, from all genres and places. I was homeschooled all my life until I started to attend a local Community College. I am currently serving as a servant of The Lord in the Orlando Florida Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church. I think that it is wondrous how much love God has for each of us, irregardless of past circumstances. He loves us so much that he wants us to have the maximum amount of long-term, lasting joy possible: that is to live with him eternally. It's interesting to think that while we're almost nothing compared to God, we mean everything to him. In order to achieve this joy there are certain standards which are irrevocably decreed we must live up to, for because, as the scriptures say, "no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God" we must try to live up to the absolute best we can be. If we fall we must use Christ's Atonement to repair an cleanse our lives so we can be clean and be allowed to dwell in God's presence. As long as we continue to try, we can meet no permanent failure. We don't need to become perfect, we just need to try to become perfect in order to live in the most divine glory, which we as mortals cannot even begin to comprehend comprehending. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for the Lord in the Florida Orlando Mission. I help other people understand how much The Restored Gospel can bless the lives of anyone who are willing to try.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

I think that this Mormon lifestyle is great! On the most basic and important level, I don't think there is any huge, massive things which separate us from others. It's only in the details that there is a real difference. We dedicate one day out of seven to the Lord; we abstain from coffee, tea, and alcohol; and we spend time each day reading our scriptures. We do this because it gives us deep, spiritual fulfillment. Whenever I fall lax in the things I should be doing, I feel a sort of hole in my life, something unsettled in the normal order of things. Something just doesn't feel right. In general though we are pretty much indistinguishable from anyone else. We work in many of the same jobs, have many of the same hobbies, like and dislike many of the same things. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes we are. The full name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is quite literally the Church of Jesus Christ. He is central to everything we do. Most especially his Atonement, because the Atonement allows us to be able to live with God again. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is, as the cover says, another witness that Jesus is our Savior. It tells the history of a family that came to the Americas approximately six-hundred years before Christ's coming to the Earth. It lays down the foundation of our beliefs along with the Bible. It was compiled by a prophet who saw in vision what our day would be like, so he wrote specifically what would be relevant to us. We can discover the truthfulness of The Book of Mormon by studying it, then praying to God about its truth. He will answer by the power of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

As Mormons, we love an accept, and dilligently study the Bible. Nowhere else can we find the words and deeds of Jesus Christ duing his mortal minstry in such abundance. It is also true that we believe in the Book of Mormon. If you read the Book of Mormon, it should help you increase your love of the Bible. Show more Show less
