Hi I'm Josh

I'm a dad. I'm a husband. I engineer diesel engines. I like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Washington State, in the apple capital of the world. I love swimming and riding bikes. I eat two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch just about every day. I served a mission in Chile and learned to speak Spanish. I met my wife while at school in Utah studying mechanical engineering. We were married in the Seattle Temple. I followed my wife to Michigan where she studied dentistry, I finished my schooling, and we had our first daughter. After school we moved to Indiana and I started working as an engineer tuning diesel engine performance and emissions. I'm now the father of 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy, ages 10, 7, 5, and 3. We have 5 chickens that lay eggs for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the message is true. My knowledge of the truthfulness of the message has come slowly over time by way of feelings, and thoughts, and answers to prayers. As a missionary I studied a lot in the scriptures and all of the pieces of the puzzle started to fit together. Now I'm able to look and see the big picture of God's plan for our happiness. Living the standards and serving in the Lord's work is challenging, but it is worth it. I'm a Mormon because I have a HOPE of returning worthily to God's presence after this life and being together with my family eternally.

How I live my faith

My family has been attending church with a Spanish speaking group here in Indiana for the last two and a half years. My wife learned Portuguese while serving a mission in Brazil and has now learned Spanish as well. I love interacting with the Latinos in our little group of about 60 people. My challenge is balancing my responsibilities: husband, father, engineer, and church service.
