Hi I'm Austin Blake

I'm currently serving a mission in Montreal, Canada. I like making films and spreading the gospel. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am 19 and currently serving in the Canada Montreal Mission. I'm a big fan of filmmaking. I made a good batch of short films before my mission, and ever since I've been on my mission, my resolve has strengthened to study filmmaking afterwards while at university. Before my mission I loved spending time with family, or with friends, or walking to a local restaurant and getting something to eat. Now on my mission, I love spending all day with those who don't yet know about the Restoration. This is the greatest and truest message that can be shared with the world, and I feel so honored and blest to be able to do so. Another blessing of being on a mission is getting packages from family full of candy and letters. Details, details. I know the Gospel is true and I pray every day that I can share this testimony with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel, but that doesn't mean that there wasn't a point where I had to and still have to be converted. True conversion to the gospel requires your dedication and full belief that God lives and loves us. True conversion is a process that might take a long time to go through. I'm a member of this Church because it keeps me grounded, and it gives me something to look forward to. Without the Church, I fear that I would be very lost while wading through this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to serve others in my ward or neighborhood. Every morning before school, I like to wake up early so that I can get some scripture study in. I've already been able to tell the difference between this year and last year, as I didn't read scriptures on a daily basis throughout middle school. I also like going back and reading General Conference talks, especially because I usually stumble across some great wisdom. My cousin and I talk to each other about great new talks that we found, and recommend them to each other. For example, I would recommend "Profile of a Prophet", from Hugh B. Brown.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Austin Blake
To me, all things "denote that there is a God." I have truly found meaning to that while taking part in my photography habit. I have taken pictures of many incredible and beautiful things, specifically flowers and animals. Even things just in the backyard will prove that there is a supreme creator. Show more Show less
