Hi I'm Cassandra

I grew up in the South. I'm a musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in northern Florida; I'm the third out of four children. I'm an avid reader, a writer, a painter, and a saxophonist. I'm currently engaged to a wonderful man, with whom I am planning to be sealed in the temple next summer - we're still working out the details.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by a dear friend of mine who is actually serving a mission right now; after my first time attending a service, I asked to meet with missionaries, and about a month later, the friend I mentioned before baptized me. Since my baptism, I have had many trials and hardships in my life - a lot of my family is very angry with me, and I have had to move multiple times because the people I lived with did not want a Mormon in their house. I still deal with extreme hatred and prejudices every day... I continue on this path because I can't deny the witnesses of the Holy Ghost that I have received, which have confirmed to me that this is the true church and Gospel of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon is probably the hardest thing I have ever decided to do in my life. But I love it, and although there will still be tough times in my life, I know that my faith and the guidance of my church leaders well help me endure until the end. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live to be an example and living up to the standards that have been given to me - modesty, clean language, a clean body, a wholesome mind, and surrounding myself in positive, uplifting media. I also bear my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel at any available opportunity, and I try to encourage and uplift others regardless of their own beliefs, because they are children of our Heavenly Father and deserve to feel like they matter, too.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is - as the cover of it says - another testament, or another witness, of Jesus Christ. Along with that, it is a collection of the writings of prophets and record keepers, who testified of the teachings of the Savior, as well as His infinite Atonement and His love for us. It is a book that is comparable to the Bible that concludes with a promise that, if read and prayed about with sincere intent, anyone can receive a witness of via the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are used for worship; in the temple, we can learn eternal truths, receive sacred ordinances both for ourselves and our kindred dead during which we make eternally binding covenants with our Father in Heaven, and it is in the temple that - by the power of the Priesthood - families can be together forever. Temple attendance also helps us commune with the Lord in His house, and it can help us progress continually as we strive to live our covenants so that we may return to God once again.
