Hi I'm Tiffany Marzette Trejo

I grew up in Tucson, Arizona. I went to a raw vegan chef school. I am a Montessori teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going to get right into it. I have struggled with obesity all of my life. I have tried countless diets and exercising routines and have never mastered it. About 2 years ago I decided to receive a gastric band. It was a very good decision. I have lost over 100 pounds since the surgery, yet I still struggle with obesity every day of my life. I always wonder why I was given this challenge in my life. Why do I have to have this challenge over any other one? Why did I receive a challenge that everyone can see? I never can hide my challenge. It is there for the whole world to see. It is harder than words can describe sometimes. Losing weight has been an amazing experience, that has shown me the power I have to not give into the physical enticing's of my body, but rather work on mastering my challenge. This would have not been possible without the understanding I have of Jesus Christ's Atonement. He suffered for the sins and pains of the entire world. This does not just include the mistakes that as mortals we make, but also include the difficult earthy challenges that we encounter. Christ knows my personal sorrow of being overlooked and ridiculed over my weight. He knows the pain I have had over being looked at as lazy, sloppy, unmotivated, etc, because of my weight. He not only knows, but understands completely. For that I will be eternally grateful.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is hard. We are all bombarded by the world everyday from every direction. Through Jesus Christ's gospel that has been restored on this earth we are able to learn about Him and grow closer to Him. He has created a plan, a plan of eternal happiness and by living our lives in accordance to His teachings we can more fully come to understand His love for us. He suffered for the sins and pains of the world. He knows of my personal challenges and yours and has literally felt our sorrow. I know without a shout of a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church upon this earth. That Joseph Smith had questions and went to the Lord and was answered. That he followed the direction Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and restored Jesus Christ's true gospel on the earth again. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for the sins and pains of the world and that because of that selfless act He has prepared a way for me to return to Him after death. I love my heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ more than words can relate. Life is hard, but through Jesus Christ it is not only easier, but absolutely wonderful!

How I live my faith

In order to stay close to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ I choose to participate in many church activities. On Sundays I go to church for 3 hours or more sometimes. Then I participate in Family Home Evenings on Monday evenings either with my family or the members of my congregation. Then on Wednesday and Thursday evenings I go to something called Institute, which are gospel study courses for college aged young adults. I am on the Family Home evening comity and help plan and get ready for Family Home evening on Monday nights. I also am a visiting teacher, which is one of the greatest callings I have. I am currently serving a mission for the church for the next year and a half. I have been called to the Baltic Mission speacking Lithuanian. This means I will be serving the people of Lithuania for the Lord.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Tiffany Marzette Trejo
It is highly encouraged, but not required. I have recently chosen to serve a mission and will be leaving in a few months. I have chosen to serve a missionary because I have received a strong conviction from the Lord that is the right thing for me to do at this point in my life. Heavenly Father has given me many talents and blessings in my life and I feel it is the least I can do to share the beautiful message of the restored gospel with others in the world.
