Hi I'm Wayne

I'm the father of 6 great kids, a Boy Scout leader, a Type I diabetic, and manage a manufacturing plant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports and music and played competitive soccer and swam in high school and played soccer in college. I earned my Eagle Scout award as a youth, and enjoy working with the young people in scouting and sports. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a MBA. My family and I lived in Texas and Arizona for many years before moving to Utah, and we have enjoyed making friends wherever we have lived.

Why I am a Mormon

Many years ago, I reached a point in my life when I had to decide if I wanted to lead the life of an active LDS person or choose another path. I had friends who were LDS, and others who weren't. I decided I couldn't simply live a certain way because my parents did, and spent a considerable amount of time researching religion. Through study and prayerful consideration, I developed a strong testimony of God, our Heavenly Father, and his son Jesus Christ. The Bible and Book of Mormon were key contributors to developing my testimony of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and I am so grateful for his atoning sacrifice for me. My testimony has sustained me through many trials, including the loss of loved ones and the health challenges associated with Type I diabetes. I am grateful for all my Lord has done for me.

How I live my faith

My faith is very important to me. I donate a considerable amount of my time in voluntary service, and love to help people overcome the challenges they face in their lives. The church has integrated the Boy Scouts of America program into the church as a way to positively influence young men and encourage them to be responsible citizens. I volunteer as a scout leader, and enjoy teaching and working with these young men.
