Hi I'm Lynda

My family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ten years ago.

About Me

I am a parent of five children. One from a previous marriage and my husband also had one from a previous marriage and we have three of our own. We have been foster parents for trouble teens for about five years. Our youngest daughter just finished school so we are now empty nesters. So, now my husband is going back to school to become a motocycle mechanic.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Morman after I visited the church one Sunday to hear a co worker speak. The minute I walked in the door everyone was saying hi to me and asking if they could help me. You had a very welcome feeling. My daughter and I then took the lessons to find out more about the church. I love the way we are all one family and the way we support each other. No one in the church is paid, we all volunteer and enjoy helping each other. After seven months the rest of my family joined. One of the things we love about the church is that we have a Prophet here on earth now just as in the olden times. He is there to guide us. The church has many programs to help us and the community.

How I live my faith

My husband and I go to our local church every sunday. I work in the nursery on Sundays. We help out others members in the ward by helping them move into there homes and cooking meals as needed, or driving the elders to appointments.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Lynda
We are not required to serve a mission. We want to. We enjoy serving and helping other. As a convert, of course I was not able to serve a mission in my youth, but I am looking forward to serving a mission when I retire. Show more Show less
