Hi I'm Kimberly

I'm a college student, accounting major, piano teacher, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Kimberly and I am a college student studying business and accounting. I teach piano lessons and work for a professor at my school. I have an older sister, a little sister, and a little brother. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

In January of 2012, my (then) eight year-old brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I didn't have much experience with life-threatening illnesses and it really shook me up. When I first heard about the diagnosis, I began to cry but I remember not feeling entirely in despair. I wondered how I could feel peace in such a time. There was nothing good or peaceful about the situation. I realized that the only way I could get through my trial was through the healing power of Jesus Christ. It is something I can't entirely explain. I don't know how God does it-how we can be peaceful in the midst of a storm. But I believe that He is there, and when we are at our lowest points he refuses to abandon us. He is always there, ready to welcome us into His arms and give us peace that the world can't. I think that's the reason I'm a Mormon-I've felt peace that I cannot deny. I have felt the power of God in my life in ways I cannot explain. When the world seems unfair and painful, when I feel that I have no place to turn, I realize that God provides answers to those basic questions we all ask ourselves: "What is the purpose of life? Where do I go after I die? Where did I live before I was born?"

How I live my faith

I attend a church group with young adults ages 18-31. I currently serve as the activities chair and help plan events to fellowship members and those who are not of our faith so they can come and feel God's love. This calling means so much to me because I have the opportunity to see how people's lives change when they center themselves on Jesus Christ. Our activities bring people to church to feel the happiness that comes from letting God touch their hearts.
