Hi I'm Jorgen

I've grown up all over the Western United States. I am an Eagle Scout in the BSA, A Star Wars geek, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in 5 diffrent States here in the U.S. The longest we lived anywhere was Tucson Arizona. Love the Sun and the Heat! I am a huge Star Wars fan, but don't have enough time or money to do some of the things I would like, such as make a set of Mandalorian Battle-armor (Besker'gam). But I am working on learning Mando'a so I can speak it as a second language (I know, I'm a geek). I love Airsofting, and want to one day make Airsofting a legitamete sport that has real teams that compete in a World Series that is as well known as the Super-Bowl. I also want to put together an arsenal that will put all airsoft fields to shame. (not as likely to happen) When I have free time, I play the Violin, Viola, and piano; and learn new instruments like the Ocarina (Real instrument, not made up like lots of people think) and harmonica (the flute is somewhere on my list, its just down there a ways). Music is one of my biggest passions, and I love Classic compossers such as Mozart. I also enjoy good books, Lord of the Rings, or a Star Wars novels, or good old fiction such as Jules Vern. H.G. Wells isn't bad either.

Why I am a Mormon

Well... All my family are members, as well as my relatives. I grew up in the Church, but that is not why I am a Mormon. I sincerly wanted to know, and I prayed and asked, I got an answer from the Holy Ghost (or Holy Spirit, Spirit of God, whatever term you wish to use), so I know that this is Christ's restored church in these the Later-Days. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

All I can really say when I think about this is that I try to follow what Jesus taught.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Jorgen
The Book of Mormon is a compalation of records from anciant prophets into one book; much like the Bible. These Prophets lived somewhere in the Americas', and the Last Prophet to write in the Book of Mormon was Moroni, the son of Mormon. The reason it is called the Book of Mormon is that Mormon is the one who gathered all the records, and with God's direction condensed all of the records into one set of plates, which his son latter hid so that one day people would know about the history of this people. Joseph Smith Jr. was directed to the plates in the 1800's, and through power that was given him by God, he translated the record, and the doctrines that were inscribed on the plates. Joseph Smith Jr. did not write the Book of Mormon. There is a messege in the last book, Moroni's summation of what happened to their people and what the Church was, and the true Gospel; and this promise says that people who read the Book of Mormon with real intent, sincerly wanting to know if it is true, will have the truth of it's message manifested unto them by the power of the Holy Ghost, the third member of the God head. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Jorgen
No we don't. I have been asked a few times, and my response is "Do you worship Mosses?". Joseph Smith was a prophet like Mosses. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Jorgen
Yes the Bible is the word of God... As far as it is translated correctly. The Bibles we have today (of Which we hold the King James vesion to be the most accurate) are fragmentory records, parts have been lost in translation, and many passages' meanings have been obscured becuase of translation issues. Most languages don't translate 100% accuratly, and while we will often get the gist of what is being said, there are parts we miss becuase it doesn't translate. Show more Show less
