Hi I'm Marie

I grew up in Utah, living in California, a mom of four boys and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom of four boys, the oldest is 9, the next is 6, the next is 2, and my youngest is 7 months old. My oldest two were from my first marriage I was divorced for about three years, and then remarried in the temple in 2011. We had the blessing of getting pregnant very soon and had our third boy in 2012, with our fourth boy to follow in 2013. I enjoy outside activities and anything active, before I had children I enjoyed river rafting very much. I continue to enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, volleyball, ultimate frisby, running, reading, yoga, drawing, and learning new ways to say money and the environment. I have an assoicates in college and I was majoring in Graphic design. A new passion of mine has been gardening and learning different ways to conserve water. I enjoy health and trying to make healthy food that is good for me and my family and tastes good ( I sometimes fail at making it taste good :)). I enjoy learning new things and have a strong testimony of the need for a relationship with God, reading the scriptures daily, and seeking to do Gods will everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the peace and direction I feel from the gospel. I know that this gospel is true! I know that living the principles taught in this gospel bring happiness and direction in our lives. I was born a member of this church and knew at a early age that it was true. I didn't truly become converted until I was in my first marriage, I married in the temple and my first husband was not active in the church after our marriage. We made different choices but continued to try to work on our marriage, I became closer to my Heavenly Father as I had to attend church with my two boys and the temple alone. I continued to work at having the Lords spirit with me. When my marriage ended It happened very quickly, I was blessed by the spirit and prepared beforehand to handle this very difficult trial in my life. My children were carried and protected by the Lord during this time. I truly got to know God in my trials and felt His direction, love and comfort during this time. I know that as you live this gospel you can learn to have personal revelation which will guide you through any trial that comes your way. I was so blessed and am so grateful for my second husband who loves me and loves this gospel. I feel l was led and directed to the blessings I've received in my life and that I am truly blessed.

How I live my faith

I love the Gospel! I couldn't have made it through the times of being a single mom without my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I and my husband work hard in our desire to raise happy, righteous boys that can have the blessing of knowing God, and having Him help them through the trials of life. We love the words of the scriptures and the words of our Latter Day Prophet.

Are Mormons Christians?

The official name of the Church is not Mormon, the name by which this church is called is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I believe in the actual divinity of the Savior, that He suffered and died for my sins and made it possible for me to receive peace and happiness not only in the life to come but in this life in whatever circumstance I may be in. If you came to any meeting of our church you will see that we are continuously testifying of Christ. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Our bodies are the place in which our spirits reside, and therefore should be protected and taken well care of. Many different substances can affect our bodies ability to function well which will deter our ability to feel of Gods love, guidance, and comfort. Addictions which include alcohol, drugs, pornography, media, and gambling are all things that can lead us away from God and from serving others and into a trap of being selfish and focused only on what we want and on our own lives. This is one reason we should avoid anything that could become addictive because it limits our ability to serve, to grow, and to be happy in this life. We can also show respect for our body which leads others to know that you care for yourself and encourage them to care for themselves. As I strive to take care of my body I am better able to play with my children, to serve God, and others. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in God and in His plan for our lives. So many times in my life I have been led by Him to do things that have benefited my life. There have been times where He has led me where I knew that without the His help and direction I would've ended up in a place and life that would be so much less then what I get to live now. Faith in my life is connected deeply with trusting and moving forward in my life without fear but a trust and faith in God's plan and in His protection. I know that as I study the scriptures and pray daily that I am closer to God and better prepared to receive HIs direction. As a mom, God helps me with my children, with the health of my body and with the spirit in our Home. How grateful I am to HIm for the Love He has for me even on small things He leads my life, He does care about me and about the small worries and things in my life. I have faith in His love for me and that I am a daughter of God. Show more Show less
