Hi I'm Colton

I grew up in Las Vegas, a.k.a. sin city. I'm 19 years old. I'm a missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love reading, it was my favorite thing to do in my free time. I also sing rather well, and I liked to do so when I am alone around the house. After my mission I plan on going to Utah State. Most importantly in my life right now though, is that I'm a missionary. I love the Lord with all my heart, and want to do his work. And I want others to know the happiness of the gospel, that I have known all my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be (and stay) a mormon of this church, because it felt right. It brings me happiness every single day, and helps me overcome any difficulties I have. It makes me want to be a better person, and gives me hope of a better tomorrow. I am not perfect, and I have made mistakes. I am able to heal these scars though, and I have the oppurtunity to have a second chance. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, because it has worked miracles in my life. Nothing incredibly extrovert but little things that build into great wonders. I know that without this church, I would be much worse off in life, and might not have much motivation to do much of anything. My faith makes me want to do more, weekly, daily, and hourly. I know this gospel is true. But even if it wasn't true, I would still want to be apart of this church, because of the kind of person it makes out of you. It makes you into something greater.

How I live my faith

I am currently giving two years of my life for my faith. It's really kind of incredible. I've never been so sure about something in my life, and yet it's probably the biggest decision I've ever made. Every single one of my days is devoted to serving. I teach all kinds of people, but my mission is spanish speaking, so I mostly teach to Latinos. They have a fantastic culture, and I love being around the people I teach, and learning about them. And most of all I love teaching them, and seeing joy in their eyes. I will never regret my decision to serve.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

How do you find out anything is true? You research it. Usually you study a book of some kind. The book to study for this particular subject is The Book of Mormon. Except, rather than relying on your own intellect, you are able to get a confirmation from a greater source. If you read the book, and pray to God about it with a real intention, and all your heart, you will receive your answer. I tried to figure out if the book was the read deal at first by using my head. It seemed like a nice book and everything, and it had lots of nice stories, but I wasn't sure. The book told me to pray about it, and I finally gave in. I felt an almost unnatural warmth in my heart. Its not that it felt weird. But there was no reason for me to be feeling it, except that it came from an outside source. I learned that the Book of Mormon was true at the age of 14, and through that, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I have been faithful ever since. Show more Show less
