Hi I'm Matt

I'm from Las Vegas. I make music in my head and on my laptop. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my undergrad, and am producing music for a company that makes tracks for musical theater. I'm also living my life-long dream of writing a musical. My wife is doing her student teaching, and will finish soon. She has Crohn's, a bowel disease which has made things particularly hard for her these past two years. In the two years we've been married, though, she's stayed pretty positive; and somehow we're doing alright.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because through His church I have felt His love constantly. Because of the way we worship, I know who my Savior is, what He did for me, and what I need to do about it. Some times I forget and lose sight of my purpose in life. Because of Jesus Christ, though, I can come out of those ruts, turn away from my flaws, and go back out again and do some good. I love it.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday, my wife and I attend a ward (sort of a church-family) for young married students. A few weeks after our first day there, the Bishop asked me to serve as the Ward Music Chairman. I organize all of the music for sacrament meeting (the main meeting at 9am), which includes figuring out who will play the organ, who will lead the music, and whether or not there will be any special musical number. I'm slowly getting to know people (perhaps slower than I'd like to) well enough to gauge who can do what. We've also got a ward choir going. When they perform, it really adds to the spirit of the meeting.
