Hi I'm Michael Joseph Cox

Im a musician, writer, and have an irrational affinity for falling in my dreams. Im a mormon.

About Me

I grew up skatboarding with my brother and his friends, and later moved on to surfing and camping on beaches. i bike everywhere i go by choice, and love to improve on my art. I have always been intrigued by music and the pictures it paints, and now I produce music of my own including acoustic, electric, and even rap. I have parents that I love, a brother, and a sister i cant live without. They make life so surreal and worth living.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by my parents, but thought that i knew better than them what would make me happy. In my teenage years I started participating in the activities of the world. The years went by and I had little to no morals and had stopped respecting the body my Father gave me by executing life-threatening feats that were in retrospect idiotic, until one day one would think I wouldnt have to worry about it anymore. I struck my head at roughly 35 mph into the pavement. I was in a state of vacancy for roughly 2 weeks and the doctors did not believe i would survive. They had given me every kind of medicine to make my head's swelling go down and even debated cutting holes in the back of my skull to let the blood out of the massive brain hemorage. They let us expect that i would have brain damage if i were to even wake up. As my body lay there on the hospital bed as a figurine, my spirit was convulsing in anguish and sorrow from the way i had been living. I feared for the loss of my soul in my current state and began to pray to my Father the way my parents taught me. Everything became lovely, surreal, and enchanting; I knew that my Father had forgiven me for the poor excuse of a life i was living, He also let me know that I had more to do on this earth. I awoke to implausable pain throughout my body, I was not a paraplegic. Heavenly Father had not only redeemed me, he had also fully healed me from an injury that was supposed handicap if not kill me. Since fully rehabilitated I have done everything I can to let other people know of Jesus Christ's offer to all who inhabit the earth. I want everyone to have the same feelings of complete joy and love that I had never before felt until reaching out to Him. He is there for anyone who feels hopeless, anyone who has been injured, and anybody who has felt sorrow. He loves us and will bless us. All we have to do is ask.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has always been so amazing to help those within the church as well as the surrounding community (even the communities not so close.) I am able to hold a calling in the sunday school commitee which has allowed me to stay involved and feel proud of what i can do to help. Besides making me feel like I make a difference, i have also grown myself and have learned what helps others. I get to go out with the local missionaries and teach people about the gospel. Its a wonderful transformation that takes place when the gospel is seen fulfilling ones life, and to be there first hand is unexplainable.
