Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Idaho. I am an AS graduate of BYU-I. I have been called to serve in the Maryland Baltimore Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I love to do the work! I care about the people and want to serve others. Before I came on my mission I was going to school at BYU-Idaho and I am going into Elementary Education. I have completed my AS degree and hope to finish schooling when I get home. I love children and am excited to get my bachelors in Elementary Education. I love to go camping, hiking, and biking; especially with my family and friends. I enjoy cooking and like to learn how to sew. I am interested in becoming a better gardener. I love to have girl night outs with my sisters. Some of the things that we love to do during our evenings are nails, hair, face masks, and to watch movies together. But it couldn't be a real girls night out without junk food. Especially Chocolate!

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because living according to the precepts of the Book of Mormon makes me happy. As I attend church and keep the commandments I am happy. I know that it is the true church on this earth today. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who lives and loves me. He guides me every day through the power of His spirit that comforts and directs my path. I know that I am blessed when I keep his commandments. I am grateful for the temple and the covenants that can be made there. I share this testimony in the name of my Savior, even Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being obedient to the commandments. Sometimes I mess up and don't live up to my commitments and when that happens I evaluate myself and work harder the next day. Because I am a servant of God as his missionary in Maryland, Baltimore mission, I have to be a better example. I am grateful every day for the Atonement of Jesus Christ because it allows me to be forgiven of my mistakes and to have a second chance. I know that by keeping the commandments and never lowering my standards according to any situation I will be seen as a person of honor. I will be respected. I do the same for others and their religion. I want to treat others as Jesus would treat them. With love and being no respecter of persons.

What is faith?

Emily
According to the scriptures in the Book of Mormon Alma 32:21 we learn that Faith is to "hope for things which are not seen, which are true." In my life I have learned this doctrine to be true. When I have faith in my Savior and believe that he did suffer on the cross and die for me so that I may have the opportunity to live with my Father in Heaven again but to also be forgiven of sins, I have felt a power in my life that wouldn't be there if I chose to have faith in something else. Faith only works when founded upon the Savior. He is the way and the life; this was taught in the Bible Dictionary. Show more Show less
