Hi I'm James

I like to design and create my own swords. I am a jack of many trades, but a master of none, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy singing, playing the piano and guitar. I also enjoy the performing arts and have been in several musical casts and choirs. I like to ballroom dance. I like fixing things. I also enjoy construction work, and woodworking. I like designing and building my own swords from carbon steel. I am an Eagle Scout. I love the outdoors. I like spending time with my family. I enjoy video games when I have time I like to play any of the Legend of Zelda games. To put it simply I like trying new things and like a variety of things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church; however simply being born into the Church is NOT why I am a member. I am a member because I decided I wanted to be at the age of 8 when I was baptized. The experience was a great one feeling renewed and promising to live a different life then I had lived. I am not saying I was the perfect member from that point on. Far from it in personal opinion, but I suppose the one I am most critical of is myself. I have made mistakes I am not proud of, but I have repented by accepting the power of the Saviors atonement. I enjoy the compainionship of the Holy Ghost and I would hate to think what it was like before that. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ it has made me who I am today. I know that God lives and he is our loving heavenly father, I have a testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and love him so much for what he did for all of mankind, I am thankful for the Holy Ghost and the comfort he brings to me and the world. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God he did read James 1:5 and did exactly as James instructed him to do he asked of god, and god the Father and Jesus Christ did appear to him in the flesh and answer his question. I know that Joseph Smith did translate the Book of Mormon. I know that it is the word of God given to the ancient inhabitants of the America's and that it is Another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that through Joseph Smith the Chuch of Jesus Christ was Restored to the Earth. I sustain and know that we have a prophet receiving revealation today. I am who I am because of this Church and I say these things in the sacred name of Jesus Christ our savior amen.

How I live my faith

I liked to spend time with the scouts and have many fond memories of the scout camps I have attended. I enjoyed being a ward missionary, and helping our full time missionaries spread the Restored Gospel. I liked to home teach the family's I was assigned and remember helping them cut down trees, babysit children, or simply just let them know I was there for them if they needed me. I remember helping remodel a house for a family in the ward and enjoyed every minute of it. I liked to help my father clean and lock up the church and have offered to do so by myself a couple of times. I have served as a president of two youth groups and a senior patrol leader in my Scout troop. I served a mission for the Church in Kentucky USA.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we believe he was a Prophet. We honor the work he did (under the direction of God) to restore the Church of Jesus Christ. We worship God the Eternal Father and his son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Wards are local congregations organized by geographic location. The Church uses the same teaching materials for every ward (or branch for smaller congregations). This means that a person in England will be studying the same material as a person in Japan would be. A group of wards all in the same geographic area form a stake. Show more Show less
