Hi I'm Scotty

I'm a California native. I served a mission in Romania. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Scott. I was born and raised in Southern California--where the beach, desert, and mountains are all very close. I am the youngest in my family. I have one older brother and one older sister. I enjoy writing, running, playing guitar, listening to good music, hanging out with good friends, and other things like that. I recently got home from serving in the Romania/Moldova Mission. Therefore, I know Romanian, a really cool Latin language. I have loved growing up in the Gospel and having a good family. I am currently a student at BYU.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well, I was fortunate enough to be born into a family that has taught me what it means to follow Christ. Even before I can remember, I would go to church and read scriptures and pray with my family. I learned about the Book of Mormon, prophets, God's plan for us, and so on. But that is not all. Over time, I have come to know just how real The Atonement of Jesus Christ is. He died for all of us for a real reason--so that we can be cleansed from sin and be made clean and pure and happy. I have come to know with a sure knowledge that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it is true. I am especially grateful for the mission I served. I learned many important things there that have helped to give me a very strong testimony of this Gospel. I gained a new perspective on the Gospel--that it literally can change lives. It brings us more happiness than anything else. I grew to understand that we can trust in God even in the most impossible of circumstances.

How I live my faith

I live my faith--the Gospel of Christ--by doing the small and simple things that bring me happiness and that invite the spirit into my life. These things include personal scripture study, prayer, and attending my church meetings and fulfilling my callings. I strive to be a good example to others through humility and quiet friendliness. I had the opportunity to be a branch president over a handful of church members in Romania on my mission. That calling has helped me to understand better the importance of living the Gospel and applying the Atonement, and how to help others do those things too. I try to live my faith because Christ's Gospel is a gospel of acting, learning, developing, and loving others.
