Hi I'm David

I eat pizza for breakfast every now and then. I love God and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play ping-pong. There is a definite reason why table tennis happens to be an Olympic sport: it's awesome. Outside of the table though, tennis itself is pretty great too. I crave to learn. I think it is incredible that there is so much to be gained and understood through studying the past. To put it in the simplest terms that I know how, history is cool. Amid all of the good things in life though, there is nothing that I love more than faith and family. Life is meant to bring about joy and the best joys are found at home. Currently, I have put the norms of life on hold for a time to serve as a full-time missionary. Nothing has brought me more joy than seeing the impact our Savior and His gospel has on everyone. Serving as a missionary has helped me see more clearly the love that God has for His children and the true need we all have for Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Often times in my life I am told that the only reason I am a Mormon is only because my parents raised me within the church. I can promise everyone that that is not the case. I had to come to know these things are true for myself. Honestly, the only reason that I am a Mormon is because I have asked God the "hard" questions through prayer and through the powers of the Spirit I have received answers. Simply enough, I have come to know for myself through the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ, that through Him salvation comes. Through the Spirit I have come to know that Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet to restore all of the necessary components of Christ's gospel. Because of the workings of the Spirit I have received a witness that the Book of Mormon is just what it says it is: "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" meant to uphold and clarify the gospel found within the Bible. These simple witnesses of the Holy Ghost have provided me with conviction to the Savior and a foundation upon truth. I know that these things are true. There is no doubt in my mind. Because of my beliefs I strive to progress in my learning. Through careful and prayerful study of the scriptures I have come to know more than ever that this gospel is true. It is true because it is the same gospel that was taught from the beginning, that same gospel found within the Old and New Testaments. It is true because it is His, even Jesus Christ's. I know that He still leads and guides His church today through the same powers of revelation that He used in days of old. This gospel, above all, has helped me come to see more clearly the beautiful reality that God knows who we are, that He loves us, that He wants to be with us. It is really because of that knowledge that I know that anyone, whether young or old, tall or short, boy or girl, learned or unlearned, can truly come to know these wonderful truths for themselves. Hope, joy, and direction come through the gospel. What's not to love?

How I live my faith

I am a firm believer that actions speak louder than words. I live my faith everyday by simply converting my beliefs into solid action. The Savior taught that we should all strive to be even as He is. Through implementing His teachings, I work to better myself everyday and in the process bless another. Love is what the gospel is all about and I simply do what I can to demonstrate that. I am sure not perfect, but the gospel of Jesus Christ helps me at least get a little better.
