Hi I'm Melissa

I am an individual, I am unique, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother, a wife, a sister, and a daughter. I am all things connected to those titles. I love to cook, read, garden and create. I studied photography in college and adore capturing the world through my lens.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a non-religious home. My parents always said that they wanted me to be able to choose what religion I was a part of. I feel that left me very unprepared for the questions that I would inevitably be faced with during my adolescent years. I did not have any knowledge of Jesus Christ or his mission. When I was 15 years old I took a Humanities class where we studied architecture. We studied a Mormon Temple that was located across the street from my high school. I drove by this beautiful building every day but never knew what it was exactly so I was excited to study it. We took a walking tour of the outside grounds of the Temple and I wanted so desperately to go in. When I asked my teacher if we can go inside he told me that only Mormons can go in the building. I felt a pull so intense to that building that I said in my heart that I WILL go in one day. Fast forward three years, I met a wonderful family that had something very special about them. As I got to know them I found out they were Mormon. They invited me to meet with the missionaries and learn about their church. The message they delivered was exactly what I was searching for. How I felt while learning from them mirrored the feelings I had while standing outside that beautiful temple a few years before. Every question I had about my purpose on this earth was answered. I knew what they were teaching was true. I got baptized and a few years later I had the opportunity to get married in that Temple. If you are searching, spend a few moments here. Ask your God if the truth lies in this church. I did, and He told me. I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for over 15 years. While I'm not a perfect person, I know that one day I can be through the atonement of Jesus Christ. This church has made the difference in my life. It was an answer to so much confusion I heard in the world. It is peace, it is comfort, it is knowledge! Seek and ye shall find!

How I live my faith

We have five children that keep us very busy. There is always something to be done wether in the home, at the school or the church. I am surrounded by so many great people, Mormon and not that I am so thankful to work with and serve. I live my faith by always trying to be an example of Jesus Christ and leading with the light He has given me.
