Hi I'm Stephanie

I grew up in Iowa. I'm the second oldest of nine. Leaving on a mission to Oklahoma. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Iowa. I loved preforming in plays, choir and show choir in high school and worked on our school newspaper and yearbook. I did two years at a community college to major in early childhood education after which my family moved to South Dakota. It was there that I recieved the strong impression to serve my Heavenly Father on a mission teaching about his gospel and about my Savior Jesus Christ. I've never been happier!

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon is simple. Alot of people think that it's because of being born into the church or because my family is but that is simply not true. Yes, I have been blessed to know the truthfulness of this gospel my whole life but I have not always followed it. To my own detrement I exercised my free agency in college and didn't attend church regularly or read my scripures like I was taught. I have never felt so miserable in my life than I did during the times when I missed church. I didn't have a relationship with God during that time and I felt lost. I am a Mormon because when I live the gospel of Jesus Christ I am filled with happiness and joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my every day life. I always start and end my days praying to my Heavenly Father and reading his words in the scriptures. I've been active in the church as an assistant librarian, a teacher to the 9 year olds, a leader in the nursery (working with children 18 months to 3 years old), and my most recent calling planning activities for the young single adults in our area. I greatly enjoyed doing all of these and feel as though I've grown alot spiritually through each one. I also feel as though I've gained better leadership skills and enjoyed setting up a 3 day conference for the young single adults this last summer. I've given many talks to the congregation on sundays and never fail to be filled with the holy ghost each time I've done so. My next journey with my faith will be serving as a missionary in the Oklahoma City area. I look forward to the experience greatly and pray that I may be able to share the joy and happiness that I have being a member of this, God's restore church here on earth, with others.

Are Mormons Christians?

Stephanie
I've been asked this question many times and when I've asked in return what people believe Christian to mean, they say someone who believes in Christ. Let me answer this question through a verse in The Book of Mormon in 2 Nephi chapter 25 verse 26 it reads: "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophecy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." Yes we believe in Christ, we are the church "..of Jesus Christ..". He is our Saviour and Redeemer it is only through him that we can return to our father in heaven. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Stephanie
The best way to know the truth of anything is to go to the source and through study and prayer. If you want to know mormonism is true read the Book of Mormon. Ponder on it's teachings and the thoughts and feelings that come to you as you read. Continuously pray in the name of Jesus Christ to know of it's truthfulness. I can promise you that you will recieve an answer and it will be through the Holy Ghost. If you have questions or want to know more, talk to the missionaries. There are missionaries throughout this world who have been called to share the gospel to all who wish to hear it. If you are one of those people then seek them out and they will help give you the tools to find the truth for yourself. Show more Show less
