Hi I'm Brianna

I love music, art, and writing! I dream of being an author...and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am definitely a very quirky and strange person. I love to be funny and I spend a ton of my time laughing. I absolutely love to read! I like most fiction and fantasy and historical fiction. I'm a sophomore in high school this year. I'm in orchestra, I play the violin. I also love to sing and play piano. Music is such a huge part of my life! I am a part of my school's musical and I have tons of fun doing that! I love to write, I hope to one day become a successful author. Other careers I would like to possibly pursue are archaeology or journalism. I usually get very good grades and I'll keep trying my hardest so I can get into a good college and have a good job! I love my family, I have two younger brothers, my mom, my dad, and two adorable little puppies. I absolutely love spending time with them playing board games and anything as long as we're getting along. My extended family all lives far away so going on a trip to see them is a wonderful, rare experience. My life is wonderful! I'm so grateful for all that my Heavenly Father has given me in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well I'm super lucky... I was born into the church. But that doesn't change a thing! If I didn't have faith, I probably wouldn't even care about the church at all. I can honestly say that I have a testimony of my own now, it's no longer based on my parents'. I may have only recently gained it, but it is strong. I know that this is Christ's only true church on this Earth. I know that Jesus is the son of our Heavenly Father and I have such faith in them and the Holy Ghost. I have a knowledge that the Book of Mormon is another true testament of Jesus Christ. I also know that the Bible is the word of God. Also, Joseph Smith was a true prophet and he translated the Book of Mormon and reorganized the church. I know that our prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet, I love and sustain him. I know of my father's love for me and that I can pray to him and he will answer. No prayers go unheard or unanswered. I know that the Atonement is real, that Jesus suffered for our sins and took upon him all of our pain. I also know that families can be together forever. I know all of these things are true, I KNOW. I don't just believe, I have such strong faith and knowledge in this Gospel. I will continue to be a member of this Church forever, I am committed. Even through rough times, I know that this is the true church, the most important place I can be.

How I live my faith

I'm 15 so I am involved in our Young Women's organization. I'm a secretary to the Mia Maid President (Mia Maids are the girls that are ages 14 and 15.) Since my ward is really tiny I am one of the only Young Women in my school. Therefore, I constantly try to be a good an example and always remind myself to stand as a witness of God at all times, in all things, and all places. I do that by dressing modestly, avoiding listening to bad music, swearing and talking about crude subjects, and by attending seminary every morning. Seminary is from 6:30-7:15 AM every weekday, it's a wonderful class but sometimes it gets really hard to wake up. It's a sacrifice well worth making though. I attend church every Sunday and I love reading my scriptures. Every year I look forward to Girl's camp! I have loved it each time and it's strengthened my testimony a lot! I also attend stake activities and youth conferences. Last year I was so blessed to be a part of the Kansas City Temple Cultural Celebration and dedication. These experiences lifted me even higher and blessed me so so much! I also live my faith by going to the Temple as often as I possibly can. We rarely ever get to go on temple trips but when we do, I attend! I've been able to go to the Denver, St.Paul, and Kansas City Temples. Nothing can compare to my faith and love for this Gospel, I have found the truth in it and I'm so thankful for it in my life!

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is amazing. You know what is right and if you live worthily you can be so excited and prepared for returning to our Heavenly Father. I know I would be lost in this evil world amongst what is "popular" if I wasn't a part of this church. Being Mormon can be hard, people may alienate you because of your faith, but it is infinitely more important to be a member and to live the gospel and earn a place in the Celestial kingdom for eternity than it is to be popular and accepted here on earth for a short time. Being Mormon is extremely wonderful, you can find so much joy, peace, and comfort in being one. Show more Show less
