Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in Utah. I lived near Moab for about four years. I love to draw, sing, and help other people. I'm a bit silly

About Me

I am a silly person who loves to laugh and be a bit odd at times. I'm into drawing, singing, and learning more about life. I am a college student. My name is Rachel. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe there is a God. In my right mind, I couldn’t understand how the universe and its complexity just poof into existence without some intelligence directing it. Although this is true, there was a time in my life when I struggled to know God. I went with a friend to a church activity and there was truths spoken about how much God loves his children. I felt his spirit soften my sadness and my understanding grow. I felt lost and confused about Jesus Christ. One day a friend from school asked me if I would like to take a religion class. I decided to take it. There was something I could not explain, but I loved being around and learning about God. In one of our classes, our teacher told us to come in with respect. We were learning about the atonement of Christ. I knew he was the living son of God after that lesson,I felt his love once again. I never thought people went along with what everybody thought. I felt many witnesses after I had faith to believe in it. Another night I was reading Alma 32, I felt the spirit speak to me through the scriptures. God told me to test it and after I had faith I would receive a witness of my knowledge or wouldn’t. I decided to partake in baptism. I had a terrible dream. I woke up and I kept getting the thought to read my scriptures. I was reading the book of Mormon and the spirit spoke to me again. He told me that he wanted me to do the things in the church I had seen him do (3 Nep 27:21). God has done much for me this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live by faith by participating in my callings in church and in my everyday life. I was called to teach people in our community about the gospel and to reach out to people to get to know them. In our church we make sure others are doing well in their lives. This is the point of the gospel. To let people know that you care about them and are concerned for their well being. In my everyday life I try to love other people by having kindness towards them as Christ would towards me.

What is faith?

Faith is finding out about God and believing he can do all things without necessarily seeing the end result. If we understand who God is our faith is increased. I have learned God is a person of long suffering, patience, honest, selflessness, not puffed up, not easily provoked, kind, listens, works hard, loves all people, and fulfills his promises.
