Hi I'm Linda

I am a convert of 31 yrs, am one of two children, and I'm grateful for the gospel.

About Me

Hi! I come from an Native American/Amish/Mennonite background. My great grandmother came from the Amish, and so I grew up with visiting Amish cousins, eating the big dinners with home made foods and goodies--a very quiet, simple life. My father's parents on both sides were Native American,English,Irish and Dutch. I have learned about herbal medicines, love going to pow wows (I dance traditional), and visiting cousins in Canada. I enjoy beading (and sell what I make), doing genealogy (and helping others with the Native American family trees), photograpy, collecting recipes, camping, and making and having friends. My husband and I are not able to have children, so we spend time with my brothers two children. My husband also has cerebral palsy, so we spend a lot of time watching movies or playing board games. Through my Indian side of the family we have lactose intolerance, so I collect recipes which I can make for my family and family functions. Recently, I have had to re-change my diet because of a wheat sensitivity. There is never a boring minute around our house. My husband and I live with my parents and my husband's father lives beside us, so we are always busy doing something.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member for 31 years because I know without a shadow of doubt that the church is true. Many blessings have been given to me. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and the temple is the House of our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

"I know that my redeemer lives...what comfort this sweet sentence gives..." is part of a song from the hymns of our church that I love so much. I have a testimony that I know our Heavenly Father, the Creator of this world and all life in it, loves me and each of us. I know the Prophet Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon,Pearl of Great Price and Doctrine and Covenants. I love my elder brother Jesus Christ. I have a testimony of visiting dear ladies in our ward. We have ladies- we call ourselves sisters- in our congregation we visit to see how they are, what they may need, and I know it was created by our Havenly Father so we can take care of each other. I have a testimony that the temple, the place where we are married and remember our family that has passed on, is true and where Father dwells. I am so thankful for this life I have been given.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

If you have friends or want to know more, please look up the church on the internet at LDS.ORG or you can do what I did 31 years ago: look for the missionaries numbers in the phone book. And please come to visit. We welcome all who come to visit. Show more Show less
