Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a student getting ready to be a film director and producer. I love music and practicing Kung Fu. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am technically both the second to the youngest and the oldest in my family, with four older half-siblings (although I just call them my brothers and sisters) and a younger brother. I grew up in St. George, UT as a nerdy artist and am now attending college. I am studying to be a film director, although I'm starting to lean more towards comic arts and writing. We'll see what happens! I love being active and especially enjoy practicing Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. You can usually find me cranking up music in my spare time or hanging out with family and friends. Now I'm getting ready to serve an LDS mission wherever the Lord wants me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know by experience how happy living the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me. Although I was raised Mormon, I spent many of my teenage years questioning what I believed and became involved with some unfortunate, addicting habits. Finally, it came down to the decision of where I stood and whether I wanted to be a part of this Church or not. Then, one Christmas season, I remember sitting in silent prayer and feeling the most overwhelming, warm, burning sensation envelop me. I knew in that moment how much the Lord loved me and how much He wanted me to be happy. There's been no question ever since that being a part of Christ's church is the best place I can be. I know through much prayer, study of the Book of Mormon, and listening to and applying the counsel of the prophets - both those in the scriptures and the living prophets today - that this Gospel is true and that it is the way to return to live with our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer once more. After having felt the difference between living the Gospel and not, I would never choose to walk away from the great blessing that is the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to draw closer to Jesus Christ each day, through prayer, scripture study, and learning to be loving and kind to everyone around me. It makes such a difference each day to try to look at everyone you meet through Jesus' eyes. It puts an unshakable smile on your face! I am definitely not perfect when it comes to being patient and calm all the time, but I try to better myself each day by reminding myself of who I am and how the Lord sees me. I think my faith is brought into the forefront by service. I love attending the LDS temple to serve, and I try to look for random opportunities each day to help my fellow man. Now I'm preparing to give 18 months of my life in service as I head out on a mission!
