Hi I'm Alisha

I'm a mom of three and a photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for over 5 years, and my husband and I have three kids, two girls and a boy. I love being their mom. I also love taking pictures, and I got a bachelors degree in photography. I did run a photo business for a while, but have put it on the back burner so that I can be with my kids and family. I still shoot occasionally as a hobby. I love reading, my favorite book is Pride and Prejudice, I read it about once a year. I've always loved to travel and see new places and things, and have been to several countries around Europe, Scandinavia and Russia. I taught English in Moscow, Russia in 2002. I spoke no Russian and lived with a family that spoke no English. I didn't really try to learn the language, because I figured that I would have no use for it in my life since I was only going to be in that country for five months. Then in 2004 I was called to serve a mission in Siberia, Russia. It made me laugh because now I really did need to learn the language. I met my husband in a Russian class after I returned from Siberia. He had served in Moscow, and It's been fun to have the language and experiences in common with him, along with our love for the people of Russia and the country. I love answering questions, I follow politics (but I won't claim to know everything), and I like crafting and decorating my house.

Why I am a Mormon

I am not an unusual story, I was raised in a Mormon family, baptized when I was eight years old, and I always believed it was true. I had never wondered if it was really Jesus Christ's church, I just always felt that it was. It wasn't until I was on a mission that I really sat down and knew that I needed a confirmation from Heaven that what I was out teaching about Joseph Smith and the Restoration of the Church was true. I wasn't about to waste my time doing such hard work if it wasn't true. I got my answer, it was confirmed to me that what I had always believed was true. I know it is. This actual confirmation has not only given me strength in my life, but it helps me know that my children can have that strength and knowledge and help from Heaven as they grow up in this wicked and wild world.

How I live my faith

Right now I am teaching a class of rambunctious 4 year old boys and girls in the primary. I also am a visiting teacher, I visit 3 women who are all unique and interesting. I have taught Sunday school classes to adults and youth, and have served a full time mission in Siberia, Russia.
