Hi I'm Carol Ackerman

A world traveler, raised in Arkansas, now 30 years in Arizona; I am a storyteller and artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a storyteller - coffee table books, photography, and design compositions for corporate clients - always framing space with an eye to design. I'm a mother of four amazing adults and grandmother of six dynamic, curious & precious souls. I am also a widow who finds joy in memories and anticipated reunions with those I love who've gone before: my parents, my sister and my sweetheart. I've had THE most amazing life of anyone I've ever known - seriously.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know and love my Savior, Jesus Christ, more intimately through the doctrines of salvation represented by His church. I have radically improved my life through a daily study of the Book of Mormon and believe it to be the greatest instrument of change on the earth today - available to any and all. I have identified then tested the principals of faith, repentance and seeking to know whether or not Joseph Smith truly experienced what he said he did -- both in that grove of trees on his farm and in every incident thereafter. The Spirit has borne undeniable witness to me that he IS the prophet of the Restoration - what joy fills my heart to share this knowledge! Hence, I know that Thomas Monson is a living prophet and that Jesus Christ Himself stands at the head and communicates his will to the Prophet today. His love for me - for us - is no less today than before he came to earth as the Babe in Bethlehem as the great Jehovah. I know, yes, know, that He lived a sinless life and willingly took upon Himself my pains, fears, anguish and sins - so that if I repent and follow Him, I may one day have a joyful reunion with my Heavenly Parents and my late husband. This religion frees me from misunderstanding about who I am and why I am on earth at this place in time. It makes my spirit sing and provides the inextricable foundation of my life, heightens my awareness of all around me and daily, offers me hope for eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I have taught the youth most of my adult life in the Church, even full, part-time seminary at the local high schools - I love the youth! I now teach my sisters and friends in the women's organization and serve on the missionary committee, where we encourage sharing our faith by serving others. In my community, I have worked on many boards and committees to further historical preservation, assist those with learning disabilities and raise money for needy children. An active life is a good life, if you're helping others.
