Hi I'm Tricia

I grew up in Southern California. I graduated from BYU, where I met my husband. We have 3 children. I'm a Mormon.,

About Me

I have a wonderful husband, 3 beautiful children, and 3 sweet cats. I worked as an engineer until my children were born, then became a stay-at-home mom to raise them. Now that they're grown, I work as a paraeducator for children with special needs. I love to read, make jewelry, and do decorative painting. I play the piano and sing in a Master Chorale. I'm an avid genealogist and I love to do indexing. I love purple. Sometimes I like to write poetry. I have fibormyalgia, but the Lord has blessed me to find the right medications that relieve most of my symptoms. I'm happy.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a child and a teenager, my life was very difficult. So was my best friend's life. We used to party together and do things that weren't good. But one day she started going to the" Mormon" church with her brother. After she joined, she changed for the better and became a happier person. One day, when I felt like my life was falling apart, I thought to myself, "Her life is as hard as mine, but she's happy. Something about her new faith helps her in her life and I want to find out why." So I began taking the missionary lessons and reading the Book of Mormon. I could not understand how it could possibly be true, but I kept studying and praying that the Lord would show me what I needed to know. One day, the Sister missionaries asked me if I would be baptized. Suddenly, I was filled with the Spirit of the Lord, something that had never happened to me before, and I knew the church was true and that I needed to be baptized. I felt an immense joy, something else I had never felt before. My parents wouldn't let me be baptized, but I continued going to church and was finally able to be baptized right before I turned 18. I've had so many blessings and miracles happen to me that I have no doubt that the church is true! I love the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Through it, I have received the happiness that I craved so much as a young girl.

How I live my faith

Well, I pray and study the scriptures every day. I lead the music in our Sacraments meetings on Sunday and sometimes play the organ or piano at church. I work in our church's Family History Center, helping other people do family history research. I serve in the San Diego temple every Saturday where I help the brides being married that day. When I'm at work, I pray to feel Heavenly Father's love for "my" children with special needs because I want to act with patience and kindness so they can learn as much as possible in school. I've done many other tasks in our church, such as being a secretary or president of an organization or simply a Sunday School teacher. I just try to do well at whatever I'm asked to do. I try to be loving and kind to my family, as Jesus would have me do. I've worked hard at forgiving the people that I've allowed to hurt me because Jesus has asked us to do so. I love the Lord and want to serve Him when He needs me.
