Hi I'm Sister Miles

I grew up in Utah, I attended BYU-Idaho, and I am serving a full time mission in California!

About Me

I grew up in Utah with my parents, brother, and sister. For the last two years I have attended College at Brigham Young University Idaho. When I'm not studying, working at a local bakery or playing with my family I love to keep busy rock climbing, designer sewing, gardening, singing, cooking and cake decorating. Now I'm in California serving a full time mission and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents had raised our family as members of the Church, but when my baby sister died my beliefs were challenged for the first time and I was left to figure out if God loved me by myself. Over the next several years I would struggle with depression and anxiety. I was too mad at God to ask for help. When it all became too much for me to take I finally asked God to help me overcome my weaknesses so that I could live a better life. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ and with the help of Church leaders I was able to get my life back on track. The Atonement of Jesus Christ healed my broken heart, it calmed my troubled mind and soul, and offered peace and joy I have never before experienced. Those with anxiety and depression will understand that finding relief is a sweet experience. My relief came from the peace the Spirit of God brings to us when we find the truth. I have been able to become my best person, and find myself, by finding The Atonement of Jesus Christ. I can testify that Christ lives, that God loves you, and that there is hope and joy to be found through them. I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God because I have read it many times and found answers to my deepest questions. I know that God hears and answers prayers, and even if we feel we are too far from him and too unworthy of his love, he will love us anyway, and he will send divine help and guidance. I still am not a perfect person, but I am a much much happier person because I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My religion is part of my lifestyle. As I prepare for the day I spend time praying and reading the scriptures. I attend church every Sunday. I participate in organized events and service activities several times a month. Monday nights are dedicated to spending time with my family. At school, Tuesday afternoons are set aside to attend devotionals where local church leaders and school professors speak to students about gospel principles. In October 2012 I will leave to serve as a full time missionary for the Church. As a missionary I will dedicate all my time, talents, and resources to serving and teaching God's children about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
