Hi I'm Kellen

I was born in Idaho and grew up for most of my life in Utah. I love sports, especially basketball and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two children (one son and one daughter). I am in love with my beautiful wife. I study at Brigham Young University and am seeking a degree in Facility and Property Management. I absolutely enjoy being active and involved with sports. Two of my favorite hobbies are traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

My belief, commitment, and dedication to being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a result of many personal experiences. Each of these experiences has had a spiritual confirmation from the Holy Ghost indicating that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's church. He guides His church through modern day prophets. The Lord has also provided ways for everyone to know that these things that I say are true. The Book of Mormon is one of those tools. The other tool is the Holy Ghost. Both of these will provide spiritual confirmations of the truth. I have experienced a lot of stress and challenges in my life, but I firmly believe that by making true and everlasting promises with the Lord (in His true and only church), I have been happy and feel confident about my future. The neat thing about all this is that anyone can feel the same as me!

How I live my faith

I do my very best to help those around me. I enjoy helping others in any task they have, whether it be moving, homework, etc. I have served in several leadership positions in the church, including mentoring and teaching the youth. I enjoy being around them.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Kellen
Prophets for me have a voice of guidance and warning. The tell us of danger and how to protect our beliefs and families. They act on behalf of the Savior himself. I remember the first time I ever laid eyes on a modern day prophet, President Gordon B. Hinckley. Semiannually, the church holds a general conference for all members of the church. It's broadcast throughout all the world. I've been fortunate enough to live close enough where I can attend the conferences in person. When I was about 9-10 yrs. old, my family attended a session of one of the conferences. Where listened to the conference outside of the building where the conference was held. Generally, the prophet will speak last. This was the case of that particular conference. The session was about to end and President Hinckley was to conclude. My dad asked if I wanted to see him speak. I told him yes. We walked to the building where there was an open door. When we approached the door, he lifted me upon his shoulders and I can still vividly remember seeing President Hinckley for the first time. I had a tingling feeling in my chest and through my body. It was an amazing feeling despite the tingling. I felt great!! I knew he was a prophet and have known that ever since. Even though President Hinckley has since passed away, I have had another spiritual confirmation that the current president of the church is our living modern day prophet, President Thomas S. Monson.
