Hi I'm Zach

I grew up in Colorado. I like to study and skateboard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in California but raised in Colorado. I spent alot of time in High School skateboarding and snowboarding and making videos doing that. After my mission in Madrid, Spain I continue studying at BYU in Provo, Utah and now enjoy a more low key lifestyle, studying, meeting new people, going on dates (or at least trying), walking around in nature and I still skateboard occasionally. My parents were divorced when I was two and afterwards my mom found the church. My dad is still not a member, but my mom was remarried to a man of our faith while I was on my mission. My whole life I have been an only child but I now enjoy having two step-siblings and hanging out with them, their new spouses, and my new step-dad. I still maintain contact with my dad and have a good relationship with him.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found great joy and understanding in life being a member of the church. I am so glad that my mom took a difficult decision in her life and sacrificed much to be baptized and become a member of the church. This offered me the opportunity to learn of gospel truths at a young age. I feel that true conversion began for me in my life after I read the Book of Mormon. During my one of my first semesters as a freshman at BYU, inspired by my roommates I decided it was time to take the challenge. It was not easy but the spirit I felt in my life while reading daily was unforgettable especially when I prayed to know that it was true. Since then I have had many experiences that have strengthened my testimony and continually reaffirmed that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that the Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. This I know.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week, read my scriptures and say my prayers daily. I strive to look for opportunities to serve others where I can, that is important I feel in the quest to follow the example of Christ. I have had different responsibilities in the church like helping out in leading a group of young men my age. These have given me greater opportunities to serve and try to develop love for others. I feel that the greatest responsibility I have ever received in the church was that of being a full time missionary. For two years in Spain I was blessed to be able to dedicate just about all my time to trying to help others learn about Christ; this helped me to better understand the sacrifice of Christ for us and His love for all.
