Hi I'm Melissa Harvey

I was born in Taiwan. I'm a spoken word poet. I'm a Twin. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I Currently am serving a mission in the Taiwan Taipei mission. Fun fact about me, I was actually born in Taiwan. I was adopted into a wonderful family from the United States when I was only 7 years-old. I know that my coming back was not a coincidence, but one of the many wonderful parts of God's plan for me. While I've been serving in Taiwan I've learned a lot about confronting fears, confronting the things that I don't necessarily want to face, it got a lot easier once I discovered that there was something that is a lot greater than those fears, and that is God. I am grateful for Heavenly Father's plan, and that as part of it, I was able to learn and live this Gospel. I love the arts and I enjoy reading, writing and thinking about everything. I especially Love Spoken Word Poetry, also known by some as Slam Poetry. It's my way of making sense of the thoughts and emotions from my life. I think that I love is that God gave us a means to communicate with everyone, family, and him. I enjoy talking, but I love the artful way of communicating stories through Spoken Word, because it's communication through words, body language and it can be interpreted in any way by anybody. It speaks to Everyone.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have felt God's love for me and all his children. I know that he knows us individually. The Lord has on many occasions shown to me that he is listening, he knows my needs and is helping me. I am not alone. This church and it's doctrine make sense to me, and shows that The Lord is our father, he is kind patient and loving, not just in this life but in the next, that is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have served many callings in the church, and enjoy doing service projects. I have planned many activities for youth groups and church activities while growing up in the church. I believe that doing service, or just being a friend isn't about a certain belief but instead is being human, and loving god by loving his children.
