Hi I'm Millie

I'm a chemical engineer. I love to run. I'm an expecting mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After working for a couple years I will soon be taking a break to be a full-time mom while my husband finishes up medical school. Being a medical school wife can get a little lonely, but it is so cool to see my husband work hard towards his dream of being a doctor. When I get some free time with him we like to just be outside and take in the beauty of nature-- even if it is just suburban landscaping; we take what we can get! I believe you can find beauty wherever you live. I moved 20 times before I was 20. My dad's work took our family all over the US for different projects he was assigned to. There was something new and unique about everywhere we lived; there was also always something that was hard, and I guess that's just life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is led by Jesus Christ, as the name mentions. I believe that Heavenly Father and Jesus visited Joseph Smith and that Joseph Smith followed the direction of Jesus to restore His Church. I feel a confirmation that the LDS Church is true because of how happy I feel when I am keeping the commandments. I feel like I have direction in my life and a vision for who I want to be, and that gives me a lot of peace. I also feel closer to Heavenly Father when I am doing what is right-- and its me moving closer to Heavenly Father. I don't believe he ever moves away from us. Heavenly Father has always been there for me to answer my prayers and comfort me in hard times. I really feel that He loves me a lot, and I want to return my love to Him by doing the things I know He wants be to do.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving as a teacher once a month for my church. The examples of the other women in the class (they are all women) have been very humbling and inspiring to me, especially as I prepare to be a mother. I found if I can just relax a little while I am teaching and really listen to the comments made to the questions I ask, I learn a lot more, and so does my class.
