Hi I'm Yvette

I'm a cake artist, I am a mother... I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fourth, and first girl, of six children. I went to school in Portland, OR to study in what is my passion, Pastry and Baking. I am a full time baker, and I do the occasional cake here at home. One day, I wish to open my own cake shop and create masterpieces out of cake. I love anything that has to do with crafts, I guess I can say that I am a very hands on person. I have a lovely one year old daughter. She has arrived to truly bless my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, and was baptized when I was 8. But I think that at this point in my life is when I am the strongest in the church. I have studied and have had personal trials that have made me realize that the church is true. I love the fact that our Heavenly Father knows me on a personal level. He has been there to console me whenever I am in need and has answered my questions through prayer, and study. He listens to whomever is in need. Being a mother has also helped me become more active. I want to instill in my daughter all of the teachings and morals that we learn at church. Being a Mormon has helped me become a better person, a better friend, and above all, a better mother. I love the teachings about family importance and togetherness. My testimony has grown so much this year. I cannot deny the relationship that I have with Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. I especially cannot deny the burning feeling inside my heart whenever I read the Book of Mormon, or when we sing the Hymns, or when I read the teachings of our Prophets. I testify that this is the true church. That Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet. I love the church and I am very happy to be a part of it. I can't really say that I don't know where I would be if I didn't have the church in my life, but I do know that if I didn't have it, I would be empty, and unhappy. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I live the teachings of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I try to be an example to others and to be kind to my neighbor. I go to church every Sunday and absorb all of the teachings and messages that we learn. I choose the right in every opportunity that presents itself. I have yet to serve a calling at church, but when the opportunity presents itself, I will be ready and receive the calling with an open heart.
