Hi I'm Lance

I joined the church when I was 24 years old. I am married with three beautiful daughters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an accountant for a privately owned company. I have a love of learning and take courses regularly to advance my education to allow me to open up opportunites to better provide for my family. I enjoy hiking, fishing, golfing and watching my children as they learn and grow.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the gospel by my girlfriend (now wife). Through experiences I had with her and her family, it became clear that I needed to learn more. I met with the missionaries and followed the challenges and reading assignments they gave me. As I overcame my own doubts and fears, I came to understand the truthfulness of the gospel. After my baptism I continued to learn and grow through attending weekly church meetings, and particpating in activities. Any time a principle has seemed unusual or unclear as to its purpose, I have come to find that it makes perfect sense, after testing it by studying the scriptures and living the principle. After many of these experiences, it has become easier to introduce new principles into my life. I find that even after 14 years as a member, I still learn and grow as I have new experiences and gain a deeper understanding of doctrines and principles as I study and apply them in my life.

How I live my faith

Since joining the church, I have served in many different capacities. Among my favorites are teaching Sunday School and working with the young men. I currently serve the young men by teaching on Sundays and organizing weekly scouting activities as well as planning and attending annual summer and winter camps. Camp experiences are some of the highlights of my church service. Taking a group of young men and hiking into the mountains to hard to reach lakes, glaciers and peaks are a wonderful way to experience the beauty of God's creation.
