Hi I'm Andrew

I was born in California, raised in Idaho, but now serving in the California Oakland/San Francisco Mission!

About Me

Hi, my name is Andrew Guy. I am currently serving a mission in California as of right now. I am really enjoying the experience out here. Some things I liked doing back at home was just spending time with friends. I was really into music such as rock and electro, and another thing I enjoyed was track and field. I did only about one year of it and enjoyed doing the sprinting events, especially the 400 meters, and its something I'd be hoping to do when I get back into college. I came from a family of 5 siblings... me being the middle child, but the tallest in my family. I enjoyed the time I've had to spend with them. I love them so much, because they're awesome.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I was born as a member of the church. However, there was a time that I had to really find my own testimony. It goes back to me just being an ordinary person in high school that wanted to enjoy life, but couldn't find much fulfillment. I was actually going under a pretty hard time during my first 2 years in high school, but I was very fortunate to have many friends within the church that I could look up to. For myself at that time, I've noticed not only they had their own testimonies, but they were finding joy in their lives despite of anything. That is actually what led me to start looking for my own testimony and find out for myself if theres even a God. I was confused at that time, but I wanted to know. As I came to that recognize that desire that I've had, I just started reading from the scriptures, and started praying to God on my own. Over time as I've been doing those things every day, I've noticed that my life has been going a bit more smoother. Then one day, as I just looked back and noticed all the changes I've made in my life, I just started feeling this amazing feeling. I just felt this assurance that God is there, and that He loves me. That experience was just heart touching, it really threw me for a loop, I wasn't expecting to feel those kind of feelings all in a sudden and recognize it as the Holy Ghost. I am really grateful for that experience I've had. It was a life changing event for me, and it has led me to serve a mission.

How I live my faith

Since I've been on my mission, I've been learning how to apply the gospel more into my own life. I've been seeing a lot of great miracles since I've been out here. I am just super grateful that I chose to serve a mission. Its the best decision I've ever made as a member of the church. Theres just a lot of great experiences I've had out here, and their experiences I wouldn't trade for anything else in the world.
