Hi I'm Douglas

I am from Albuquerque New Mexico, I love playing sports and having fun and helping others feel better and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing almost all sports. I love rugby and wrestling. I think they are the best sports. I am the oldest of 8 kids in my family so I understand what responsibilities in the home consist of. I love helping people when they are having a hard time. I am always glad to help someone feel better if they have had a bad day. If I start helping someone, I will do my best to insure that I help that person in some way to make them feel better. I love spending time with my family, crazy as big families can be, I love being with them. I also enjoy off-roading and riding ATVs. I am on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church but I chose to remain active as I grew up because I always felt good being at church and being around people that I knew they cared about me. I have also had the Spirit confirm to me the truthfullness of the Gospel. When I knew the Church is true, my desire to remain as close and grow stronger in the Church went way up. I wanted to learn more about my Savior and how I can better love and serve Him because of what He has done for me and for everyone of God's children. I want to be the best person I can be so that I can show my love and gratitude for my Savior and what He did for me. I know this Church is true. I know that it is the Gospel of Christ and that if we live by its precepts, that we will be saved and live with Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father again. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and called to bring this Gospel to the Earth again. I know that he saw Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is another book of scripture. I know that Joseph Smith translated the book through the power of God. I know that God has restored his authority again to the Earth. I know that through the Gospel we can return to Heaven and live with God and Christ and with our families forever if we would live the Gospel. I know that Jesus is the Christ, the one who's body was bruised, broken, and torn for us, sacrificed himself for each of us, and through Him we can repent of our sins and be forgiven.

How I live my faith

The biggest way the I live my faith is by what I am doing as a missionary. I am spreading the joy that the Gospel brings to others. I also do my best to be a help and comfort to those in need. I serve where I can and I am always willing to help a person that may not be having the best day and I try to make it better. I am a teacher of sorts being a missionary. I teach the basics doctrines of the Church to people who may not know about the Church or what it is about. I also try to be the best example I can be to those around me and to my family. I try to show how the Church has helped me in my life and what I have learned from experiences I have had because of the Church.

What is the priesthood?

The Priesthood is the power and authority of God to act in His name to work miracles on Earth for the benefit of men. All worthy male members of the Church over the age of 12 has some part of the Priesthood. Those called to leaders in the Church have the Priesthood so they can better fulfill their calling and guide the members of the Church. The power of the Priesthood consists of many things, but more common events are blessings given to the sick, blessings of comfort and strength. The ordinances of the Church are performed by a worthy holder of the Priesthood and those ordinances are for the salvation of God's children. The Priesthood is something very precious and should be respected. The calling that comes with a the Priesthood is to use it to bless those people around us. A worthy member of the Church who holds the Priesthood should be helping others and using that Priesthood in the proper way to bless the children of God. Those who hold the Priesthood are to be like Christ and serve others and love others and do all that we can to help them and serve people around us. Show more Show less
