Hi I'm Megan

I have grown up in Utah. I am a Dental Hygienist. I love Rocky Road ice cream, & going to the beach. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have lived in Utah most of my life, except for a year and a half I lived in Omaha Nebraska, as a full time missionary for my church. I am the oldest 4 children, and I love my family! I am lucky enough to be married to the greatest guy ever, and we have a blast being married. I am going to college right now to become a Dental Hygienist, and will graduate in a few months! YAY! Some of my hobbies include: studying for school (not one of my favorites, haha), shopping, spending time with my family, going wake-boarding at the lake, decorating my house (I love finding thrift store items, and re-finishing them to look amazing), eating any kind of ice cream, going on dates with my hubs, and watching movies. I have a great life, full of ups and downs. I've heard challenges come and go...and come again! ha! That is completely true! I'm so glad that I have a Heavenly Father though, who can help me through those times, because I KNOW I couldn't face them alone. I'm a normal, busy, newlywed, in college, and having the greatest time of my life! I'm a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church! It is not an "invented religion" or a "created religion" in order to satisfy a population. It is Christs Church. It incorporates pieces of many other religions... because every other religion (I believe) has pieces of Christs original truth and gospel. It's as if Christs truth existed as a BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT glass vase, when he was here on the earth. When he died, he handed his truth down through his apostles, and the vase was still perfect. Over time however, when apostles died, and over time, some of the teachings were forgotten or altered. This time is known as the Dark Ages, or Renaissance. At this point, the "vase was shattered" and broke into MANY different little pieces. Shortly after there came a Reformation period, where people noticed and realized that religions everywhere were teaching different things. One religion had taken a few "pieces of that vase" while another religion had taken "other pieces". Soon... many different things were being taught, and people didn't know WHERE to go to find truth, because ALL churches were preaching different things. That "PERFECT VASE/Christs gospel" had been shattered and divided into many little areas. There needed to be a total "Restoration" of that vase/His gospel. That's exactly what happened, when Joseph Smith prayed in 1820, & asked God which church to join, and where to go? He was just as confused as anyone. That is when Heavenly Father and Christ said Christ's gospel would be fully restored back to the earth, and Christs true church would be once again on the earth. God has had truth on the earth in many ages and eras of time, and has taken it off the earth, when people reject it! Just LOOK through the old Testament... it's proof! I know however that His gospel has been fully restored, and exists in his one true church upon the earth. That church, is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm so grateful to be a part of this church, and love my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite quotes I've ever come across says "Live your life in such a way, that those who don't know Him but know you... will want to know Him, because they know you". This quote is talking about living our lives in a way to represent the Lord Jesus Christ. I love the simple fact that every day, I can do my best to let my happy, helpful, concerned, and compassionate personality reach out, to impact those around me. I try my hardest to live up to that. OF COURSE I fall short many times daily... but the point is, I'm honestly trying! I love that our Father in Heaven doesn't expect us to be perfect all at once! ha! That would be overwhelming and impossible!!! He does however encourage us to "become" like Him. That process of "becoming" is how I live my life. To become more Christ-like every day. I have the WONDERFUL privilege of working with the youth in my ward/congregation. I get to spend time teaching, and inspiring the teenage girls (12-18 years old). However, I end up learning so much from them. It is a hard time to be a teenager in this day and age! There are so many corrupt, and messed up things in high school and junior high, and it is not always easy to "do the right thing". I am very blessed to see the inner strength these young girls have, and I am proud to inspire them in any way possible. Each week in our church meetings, these young teenage girls recite a "Young women's theme/motto" which states: "We are daughters of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him. We will stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places as we strive to live the Young Women values, which are: Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, Integrity and, Virtue. We believe as we come to accept and act upon these values, we will be prepared to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation".
