Hi I'm Abby

I'm a sister. I'm a friend. I'm a military kid. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in seven homes in fifteen years. I play the violin, the piano, and I sing. My favorite thing to do is curl up with a good book and listen to Josh Groban. I Love my family, and on a good day, sometimes I even like them. I'm the second youngest. I have a big family, but most of them are out of the house. High school bugs me, but my friends are always there. Life is just fine. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was born into it. That isn't a guaranteed membership, of coarse, but it helped, I'm sure. I know it is the true church. I Know It. As I look back at my life, I can see His hand in my life, guiding me to the path that will make me the best person that I can be. When I sit in science class, and learn about the Periodic Table or any of the Cycles, I think, 'Wow, how could any of this be an accident? It fits so perfectly!' Even when I look at pictures of National Parks, I see that it is His work. I know He loves me with a love that is perfect. I know that there is a point to this life, and it is part of His Plan of Happiness. So, even though I was born into this church, I too, have a conversion story, because after years of following after my parents, and doing things just because I should, I now have my own testimony. And I love having a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven. Whenever I have the smallest of problems, or I have a question or whatever, He is there. I may not get the answer that I want, or get it immediately, but I know He hears me, and I do get an answer. And the best part is, He's there for Everyone. He loves Everyone perfectly, and He will help and comfort anyone that will let Him. There are so many different aspects of His Gospel, but it all boils down to the Atonement of the Savior, and His Love for us. Without the Atonement, we would be stuck here and death would be the end of everything. So, I am so grateful for the enormous sacrifice that our Savior made, because I know that my own efforts are just not enough. If we are doing our best, the absolute very best we can, then, we can never be alone, because, He will be with us. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday morning, my family goes to church, even though we live in Turkey. Our branch is small, but strong. I know and love everyone in it. Every week, the other girls at church and I meet for a youth activity, and we have a great time. I live my faith by having a life that I hope my Father in Heaven would be proud of.
