Hi I'm Sheila

I am from the Navajo Tribe in northeast Arizona. I am a Therapeutic Massage Therapist and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northeast Arizona with a wonderful family. I have always considered them a blessing in my life and am so happy to share my greatest moments with them. I love, love, love my mother! She has always been a wonderful example of love and compassion to me and I hope to one day emulate that same kindness and generosity to others in my own life. But other than family I enjoy meeting new people, cooking and gathering together around the kitchen table for good food and good conversions. I love my Father in Heaven and being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Sunsets and memories always make me smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was about nine years old. It was during this time that my older sister was talking with members of the LDS church that I found my own testimony. As they taught her from the scriptures I would watch from the corner and listen to what they had to say. I remember that with every question she had these two men would open up their scriptures and say…”you know I’ve often thought about that question myself and here is where we can find the answer.” He would then open the scriptures to a certain verse and explain who was talking then have her read until she had an answer to her question. With each visit they would go through the same process and I remember thinking to myself “where can I find a book like that with all the answers in it?” It turned out that those answers come from the Book of Mormon. I have since read the Book of Mormon numerous times and have put Moroni’s Promise to the test. Moroni’s Promise being that if I would read and pray to know if the Book of Mormon was true I would be given an answer from the Holy Ghost, who is a Testifier of Truth, to all those who ask with real intent. I have come to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ and that Heavenly Father loves and cares so much for us. He hears and answers our prayers. He knows the deepest desires of our hearts and provides us with tools to return home to his presence. You are a glorious Son/Daughter of God and he loves you! This is what I have come to know and why I am a Mormon today. You too can know these things if you will test Moroni’s Promise.

How I live my faith

I feel like I live my faith the most when I’m in the service of others. I try daily to love people like Christ would have done while he was here upon the earth without pretenses, judgments or criticism. I think people are fabulous and all “diamonds in the rough” and that most of us just want someone they can turn to for help or a listening ear. I believe that is what Christ would have done and strive to be like him in this way.
