Hi I'm Colby Nikolaus

I love music and drums, love playing hockey. I am serving in the Houston Texas East Mission, and I am a Mormon missionary!

About Me

I am a huge sports fanatic, especially hockey. Been playing for a while now. I am proud to be a son of God! I am so appreciative of every thing I have. I love my leaders and the people around me! I am glad I have grown up in Mesa, AZ surrounded by amazing people! I have 6 older brothers and a twin sister. I am always willing to talk and listen and help out in any way.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and going to church was just part of the weekly routine; But I now realize that I need to have my own firm testimony of the restored gospel if I am to teach effectively, so I put the work in and I have really found this church to be true. There is no way to deny the spirit, and the power of prayer and scripture study.

How I live my faith

I have had so many missionary opportunities in my life, especially my senior year in high school. I have shared my testimony multiple times and taught many principles to some of my peers. If we pray for missionary opportunities we will find some one in need of a good message! I am serving as a missionary in the Texas Houston East mission for the church.

What is being a Mormon like?

Colby Nikolaus
Being a Mormon is such a blessing to me. We are often stereotyped that we can't do anything or have any fun, but this church is set up to give us guidelines, and allows us to use our agency! What a blessing it is. We may not choose correctly every time and may fall into sin, but the blessing of the atonement is for everyone. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Colby Nikolaus
In 1 Corinth. 6: 19-20 it talks about our bodies as being literal temples of God. A gift, I guess from a Loving Father above. Would it not make sense then that He would expect us to take care of them? So that He may continually bless us? Well, our Father in Heaven has established a health code for His saints. Through a prophet, (see Amos 3:7) He has revealed a way for more blessings. He has asked us to abstain from a few items that we really don't need: Tobacco, Alcohol, Coffee and tea, as well as illegal drugs. Though we may not fully understand why we need to abstain from these, I guess we can do as it says in 2 Corinth. 5:7 and walk by faith, not by sight. Faith in a God and Father who knows more than we about our bodies and necessities. Show more Show less
