Hi I'm Geoff

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am married and a father of 4 children, two boys and two girls. I work in San Francisco for an accounting firm. I enjoy hiking in the mountains, riding horses, spending time with my family and reading about the Founding Fathers of the United States of America.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church. When I was a teenager, I had to find out for myself if the church was true. At age 14, I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover and prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked whether the book I had read was true. I felt a burning in my chest and I knew that the Book of Mormon was true. At age 19, I lived in Manchester, England for two years and taught people about the church. Each time that I shared the account of Joseph Smith's first vision, I felt the same burning in my chest and I know that he was a prophet of God. We have a living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson, and he guides us through life's storms. I can't imagine my life without the church. I find great peace and comfort in a world of turmoil and chaos.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending church with my family each week and meeting new people. I like having an immediate network of whereever I travel in the world. The standards for our youth are a tremendous help as my wife and I begin to raise teenagers. We were also to participate in an interfairth blood drive in the Bay Area during July, which was a great success to the Red Cross and the local communities.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Geoff
In the temple we are taught eternal truths and receive sacred ordinances, including binding/sealing husband and wife together for eternity as well as being sealed to our children and our parents for eternity. We also have the opportunity to provide ordinances, such as baptism and sealings, for our ancestors who have died without the opportunity to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a witness to me that we have a loving Heavenly Father that provides and opportunity for all of his children to receive His saving ordinances. Show more Show less
