Hi I'm Kaitlin

I am a fashion student and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to furthering my education but I have finally reached a point in life where I am ready and excited about it! I am currently attending college majoring in historical costuming. I love historical dresses and sometimes wished I was born in the mid 1800's(the civil war era) just so I could wear those dresses everyday! I love camping and hiking and being in the mountains. I love music, I live for music, I don't know what I would do without music or if I ever went deaf! Though I am not musically trained in anything I hope to one day rectify that and learn to play the big bass or cello, I haven't quite decided yet.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many of this faith, I was born and raised in it. I grew up in a very strict home religion wise and other wise. Attending church and church related activities/programs wasn't really much of a choice growing up. Though I had my doubts I did believe the church to be true. When I moved away from home after I graduated high school I continued in the culture of the church. Not much could be said though of my being a true disciple of Christ based on how I conducted myself and treated others. And after a silly ordeal of personal pride I stopped going to church for a few months. Well all the doubts that I had in the back of my mind all surfaced to the forefront and I began to really question the beliefs that I had been raised with. But with the constant and unfailing dedication of my visiting teacher and the missionaries and a special experience with the Holy Ghost in a choir concert I was performing in while we sang "I believe in Christ"(a church hymn), the words seemed to come with great conviction from my throat and heart. Though I went back to church I was not of a sudden a different person. It has been something of a great refining process over the few years that have followed and I'm sure to still follow. I was again brought to a very humbling point a short time ago when all I had to rely on was God. I came to better know the love Heavenly Father has for me and better understand His doctrine given and lived wholly by Jesus Christ. And I came to know without the shadow of a doubt that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are very real and living beings and that this is His church and His doctrine taught therein is truth. Complete and ultimate truth.

How I live my faith

Some days, weeks even, are better than others. But I try to be faithful in reading God's word of truth, contained in the Book of Mormon and Bible, everyday. I try everyday to remember to be patient with myself and others as Heavenly Father is incomprehensibly patient with us. I try to treat everyone as Christ would as best I can and I try to love everyone as best I can as He would. But I am not perfect. And like I said some days/weeks are better than others. Though I do not at present serve in a calling, I have served in primary working with the children, I have been the musical conductor of a small congregation.
