Hi I'm John Strong

I grew up in Canada, I am an adult educator and a High school and club volleyball coach and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a small town guy and have grown up in small town alberta. I am a university graduate and have become an adult educator. I enjoy teaching and helping people to reach their potential. I am a father of four and love spending time with my family. We enjoy the outdoors and love sports. I have coached sports for many years and love working with athletes.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith. My parents both converted to this faith as adults. I have loved the teachings since I was a young child but feel that I truely became converted in my teens after questioning the beliefs and praying about them and studying them out for myself. I have of course struggled as many with hardships in life but have found comfort and blessings in following the teachings of Jesus Christ. My faith or belief in Christ has allowed me to overcome the passing of my spouse and daughter and to continue to push forward in life with a positive outlook. Over the years my testimony has become stronger and stronger. I love the teachings that I have been taught and that I have searched out for myself and am grateful for the peace that it brings to my life.

How I live my faith

I have for the most part of my life lived my faith very quietly as I have grown up in areas where there are not many who share my faith. I have always had a strong conviction to my faith and a strong belief in the values that I was taught. I served as a missionary for the church in France and loved it very much. I am currently a Bishop in my ward and although at times can find it hard love serving others and helping others to strengthen their faith. I am very involved in my community and have been for a long time. I volunteer to coach and sit on boards of different sporting organizations. I beleive that I can help people to reach their best through athletics. I go about my coaching without my religion playing a major role but feel that my values and example can help those that I coach get through hard times.
