Hi I'm Emily

I am a Canadian girl from Southern Alberta. I am married to my best friend and am the Mother of 6 beautiful children :)

About Me

I am a busy Mom of 6 energetic children, and together with my husband of 13 years there is never a dull moment as we work and play together. I love to sing, participate in sports, read, and cook. I live in the country and love the wide open spaces where my children can play and have their chores taking care of the chickens, cows, cats and dog. I enjoy growing a large garden and working together with my family from planting to harvest. I love being a Mom and try to find joy in the simple moments of every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and as I went off to College I was faced with some decisions that helped me turn in faith to my Heavenly Father. When I needed his love, he was there and I felt it in a very real way his powerful love for me, his daughter. From that point on I knew my belief in my Savior Jesus Christ was real, and as I continued to be obedient that belief has grown into a strong testimony that has given me strength to overcome difficult trials in my life. I am so grateful that I now have the opportunity to teach my faith and testimony to my children, encouraging them to find their own connection to heaven as I teach them to pray and develop their faith in Christ. Being a Mother is hard and it challenges me every day, physically, emotionally and spiritually but I am grateful every day for the peanut butter stains, mountains of laundry, hugs and kisses and smiles from 3 beautiful daughters and 3 handsome sons.

How I live my faith

My religion is such a central part of everything I do. Having a large family has it's challenges in our busy world and I am so blessed to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I feel like belonging to the church helps me be the best Mother that I can be to my sons and daughters. When I study my scriptures daily and pray to my Heavenly Father, I feel a strength and power that helps me in my efforts to love and teach my children. I have served in many ways in the church, and right now am blessed to serve in the church as Ward Music Chairperson. This allows me the opportunity to prayerfully select the hymns for our worship meetings, arrange special musical numbers for our meetings and other responsibilities. I have a great love for music and a desire for others to feel the spirit as they come and worship the Savior, Jesus Christ in our meetings.
