Hi I'm Charlayne

I grew up in the Mormon Colonies in Mexico. I am a Mom trying to "Enjoy the Journey"! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a MOM. I have always wanted to be a mom and enjoy it most of the time! I have four kids and my goal is to "enjoy the moment(s)" which is not always easy to do! I struggle to find the happy medium and always wonder what more I should or could be doing with my kids. In the end I know that this is my choice and I am grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who has entrusted me with sweet spirits to raise and guide throughout their lives. I love singing with my kids, playing the piano (for fun, not accompaniment!), and trying to be crafty! I also enjoy cooking and baking yummy treats.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ is a way of life for me. I know that peace comes from living the commandments and following the guidance of a loving prophet, currently Thomas S. Monson. I was raised in a lovely community in the Mormon Colonies in Mexico and it was there that my testimony began to grow. I love my parents and am grateful for their testimonies and examples along with countless other leaders and friends who helped shape and influence my life and testimony. I know that being a mom is often a thankless job, but it is the "Moms" in my life that I look up to and see their strength and courage to live the gospel and strengthen families all around the world. I also know that the Priesthood power is real and am grateful for a father and husband who honor their priesthood and fulfill their church calling obligations. I know we have a loving Father in Heaven who wants us to return to live with Him. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, died so we can use the Atonement in our lives and try to be better every day. I love this gospel. I know it brings us happiness and peace in a world that is falling apart. Jesus Christ lives and loves us.

How I live my faith

I love teaching the youth in my ward. I teach young men and young women ages 13-14 from a manual called "Preparing for Exaltation". It teaches the basics of the gospel like the covenants we make at baptism to care for and love everyone, to work hard, to be honest in all our dealings, and the importance of prayer and faith. I am grateful to be a part of a women's organization that follows the motto: "Charity never Faileth". I believe we are our brother's keeper and one of the ways we do this is by visiting teaching. This program allows us to visit women in our ward and community and talk about our circumstances, our lives, and try to help eachother out! I also enjoy volunteering at my kids school, interacting with my kids and their friends teaches me a lot, and allows me an inside view of what they're learning and what we can talk about at home.
